Coronavirus infos
Dear participants,
We have been following the development and spread of the Coronavirus outbreak closely over
the last few weeks and due to the seriousness of the situation as well as the measurements
the governments have taken, we decided to
cancel the workshop,
which would have taken place from April 20 till April 22, 2020 in Vienna.
We will most likely try to
postpone
this event to the end of summer/beginning of autumn. If this is possible, we would be really happy
to welcome you again as a participant to the workshop.
We hope you understand this decision. We will keep you updated about a new date for the workshop.
Feel free to contact us at any time should you have further questions in the meantime.
Best wishes and stay healthy!
The organisers: Alexandra Holzinger, Laura Kanzler, Giulia Pilli
Throughout many years mathematical and biological sciences have always benefited from their interplay. Each successive interaction enhances the fields: on one hand describing biological processes brings up new mathematical ideas and on the other hand the mathematical models help to gain deeper insights into biological phenomena.
In this spirit, the goal of this workshop is to highlight the strong connection between mathematics and biology by presenting various mathematical approaches. In particular, the topics will cover a broad variety of biological situations and will mainly focus on PDE and stochastic techniques in use, whose importance in the mathematical biology world increased significantly over the last years.

The Workshop Mathematical Models in Biology: PDE & Stochastic Approaches is organized with partial support of the SFB 65 Project Taming Complexity in Partial Differential Systems and from the Doctoral Program (DK) Dissipation and Dispersion in Nonlinear PDEs (both programs are financed through grants by the Austrian Science Fund - FWF), from the Vienna Center for Partial Differential Equations and from the Vienna School of Mathematics (VSM).
